2022年7月14日、【懐かしの街】の英語バージョン【Nostalgic Town】をアップしました。英語変換による音階の調整に苦労した「Candle Night」と違って、この曲はAメロ、Bメロで同じ音階が続くので音域合わせはCandle Nightよりは比較的楽には出来ましたが、やっぱりどのようにして英語歌詞でメロディを埋めるのかには苦労しました。今見返すと１番のAメロは悲惨な歌詞ですね。日本語に直すと「誰も信じることが出来ない」「誰にも預けることが出来ない」～こんなんで人間関係上手く行く訳ないですよね。
曲の背景として、仕事・生活で疲れて精神的にアップアップだった主人公が昔住んでた街を訪れて「そんな無理しなくても大丈夫なんだ」と思い直し、再度やり直そうとする気持ちの変化を表現したかったのですが、伝わりましたでしょうか？
個人的には英語としては1番Bメロの「coｍ-fort-a-ble][sim-i-lar-to][to alive, to live]と刻むフレーズが気に入っています。ただ、2番のサビの最後で「our new future with you]これは、改めて見直すとやっぱりおかしかったですね。最初,[my]にしたのですが、少し間延びしたように聞こえたので「僕達の未来」として[our]に変えたのですが、英文で見ると「私達（複数形）？ この人子持ち？ 介護の両親いる？ 養わなければいけない妹・弟いる？ と、やっぱり疑問が出てきますね。myを使いたくなければ、主語を変えて「Your new future with me」にしても良かったですね。反省しきりです。 日本語と英語で若干、微妙ですがアレンジを変えているのですが気付かれましたでしょうか？
